  1. So, you know, after this conversation with the freight company, and a 3 page complaint letter (no, really!) and numerous phone calls my “urgent” parcel that was sent via the “overnight road express” service was found … and then failed to be delivered “due to time constraints” a week later.
Really, TNT? Really!?

So, you know, after this conversation with the freight company, and a 3 page complaint letter (no, really!) and numerous phone calls my “urgent” parcel that was sent via the “overnight road express” service was found … and then failed to be delivered “due to time constraints” a week later.

    Really, TNT? Really!?

  2. I don't think "express" means what you think it means ...

    • Scene:
package was due to arrive Friday, it did not. I have been calling every hour today to find out where it is. Last call was a few minutes ago.

    • TNT:
      How can we help you?

    • Me:
Well, this is now the sixth call to you today to find out where my parcel is and to find out when it will finally be delivered to me.

    • TNT:
It says here we tried to find it but it wasn't in the depot.

    • Me:
      So, you've lost it?

    • TNT:
      No.

    • Me:
So, you know where it is then?

    • TNT:
      No.

    • Me:
If you don't know where it is, then how can you say it's not lost?

    • TNT:
Well, we can say we don't know where it is, but we are sure we haven't lost it.

    • Me:
So, it was picked up and scanned into the system?

    • TNT:
      Yes.

    • Me:
and it was scanned into a depot?

    • TNT:
      Yes.

    • Me:
and it wasn't picked up for delivery?

    • TNT:
      No.

    • Me:
and you don't record why not?

    • TNT:
No. You have to understand that not all freight is 100% guaranteed, even same day delivery is not guaranteed to get there the same day.

    • Me:
      Are you serious?

    • TNT:
Well, there can be flight delays, traffic congestion ...

    • Me:
You picked up a parcel 60kms from my house 7 days ago under a "road express" overnight service!

    • TNT:
You have to understand that it was a long weekend and that road express is our least prioritised service, so other higher prioritised parcels will be delivered before those.

    • Me:
So, when can I expect to see this package then?

    • TNT:
Well, I can't tell you that until we find it.

    • Me:
So, to summarise: you currently do not know why it wasn't delivered, you have no idea where it is, when you do find it, it may not be delivered to me because it is not a high priority compared to other freight.

    • TNT:
Correct, but we will do our best.

    • Me:
      ...
